Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician III to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. Based in Seymour, Indiana, this Onsite, Contract to Hire opportunity is responsible for improving the reliability, safety, and performance of equipment and building systems within an industrial manufacturing environment. The position offers meaningful involvement in complex troubleshooting, maintenance planning, equipment improvements, and facility projects while partnering with operations and technical personnel. Success requires extensive mechanical and electrical expertise, sound judgment, leadership ability, and flexibility in supporting continuous plant operations.
Compensation:
$51,000 to $67,000 annually
Work Schedule:
Flexibility in work hours and days is required, including overtime as needed to support continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Technician III:

• Deliver advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for production equipment, utilities, building systems, and related infrastructure to improve operational reliability.
• Analyze complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC/R, PLC, VFD, and machine control issues using diagnostic instruments, technical documentation, hand tools, and electrical equipment.
• Coordinate equipment installations, facility changes, system improvements, optimization efforts, and small to medium projects in collaboration with operational and technical partners.
• Maintain accurate work orders, inspection findings, maintenance histories, parts requirements, procedures, and technical drawings while completing assigned work within established timelines.
• Guide less experienced technicians, promote safe work practices, identify workplace hazards, and ensure appropriate protective equipment and operating procedures are used throughout the facility.

Qualifications and Skills for the Facilities Maintenance Technician III:

• At least seven years of mechanic or technician experience, including HVAC/R work at a journeyman or industrial level; exposure to pharmaceutical, GMP, or another regulated manufacturing setting may be preferred in formal criteria but is not required under current hiring guidance.
• An associate degree in industrial mechanics technology, instrumentation, electronics, or a related discipline is strongly preferred; relevant licenses, certifications, apprenticeships, structured workplace training, and HVAC management credentials will also be considered.
• Advanced ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, interpret and revise drawings and schematics, work with PLCs and VFDs, and perform light machining, fabrication, or welding when needed.
• Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal abilities, along with proficiency in common office productivity applications for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and email.
• Ability to work across production areas, warehouses, loading docks, mechanical rooms, roofs, and catwalks; remain standing for a full shift; lift at least 50 pounds; move loads exceeding 100 pounds with material handling equipment; operate personnel lifts; and wear respirators and CAL rated arc flash equipment for extended periods.
