Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. This Direct Hire opportunity is based Onsite in West Chester, PA, and will help strengthen the sourcing, evaluation, and availability of surgical instruments and healthcare products. The position offers meaningful involvement in supplier strategy, purchasing analysis, inventory planning, and product assessment while working with stakeholders across quality, operations, product, and supply chain functions. Candidates who combine clinical knowledge of surgical instrumentation with strong procurement judgment, communication skills, and analytical ability will be well positioned for success.
Compensation:
$90,000 annually
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist:

• Oversee the identification and assessment of potential suppliers and manufacturing resources by reviewing product samples, technical details, pricing, capacity, and production capabilities.
• Analyze surgical instruments and related equipment from clinical, quality, cost, and operational perspectives to guide informed sourcing and purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate supplier negotiations, qualification activities, performance reviews, and continuity planning to build a reliable and diverse supply network.
• Support inventory and procurement planning by evaluating demand patterns, availability, delivery timelines, cost information, and quality measures.
• Maintain complete purchasing and supplier records while partnering with quality, operations, product, and supply chain stakeholders to improve processes and support product initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills for the Procurement Specialist:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Direct experience with surgical instruments in an operating room, sterile processing, surgical technology, clinical support, or surgical services environment, along with a strong understanding of instrument use, function, and quality expectations.
• Background in procurement, purchasing, materials management, inventory control, supply chain operations, or supplier relations within healthcare, medical devices, or a comparable regulated industry.
• Demonstrated ability to assess products for clinical suitability and operational value, solve problems using data, communicate effectively, and manage productive supplier relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with enterprise resource planning platforms, global suppliers, medical product sourcing, forecasting, supplier qualification, and procurement practices is preferred.
