Job Title: Senior Nurse Consultant
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Nurse Consultant to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. The position follows an Onsite arrangement that requires weekly travel to healthcare facilities nationwide, where the consultant will help leaders strengthen workforce planning, resource utilization, and operational results. Success in this role requires a combination of nursing expertise, analytical judgment, executive communication, and the ability to guide meaningful improvements across complex hospital environments.
Compensation:
$100 to $115 per hour
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week. Travel to the assigned client location on Monday morning, work Onsite Monday through Thursday, stay in a hotel during the week, and return home Thursday evening.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Nurse Consultant:
  • Analyze clinical labor data, care demand, workload measures, staffing practices, and financial indicators to uncover opportunities for stronger workforce performance.
  • Guide hospital executives, nursing leaders, and operational managers through assessments, findings, and practical recommendations that support informed decision making.
  • Develop resource plans, performance targets, and workforce models that reflect patient needs, service volumes, clinical complexity, and departmental requirements.
  • Facilitate improvement efforts by partnering with leadership and frontline personnel to refine workflows, scheduling approaches, and the deployment of staff.
  • Deliver education, coaching, and ongoing performance reviews that help managers address implementation barriers and sustain measurable operational gains.
Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Nurse Consultant:
  • Active Registered Nurse license and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related area of study.
  • At least five years of nursing experience within a hospital environment, including direct exposure to clinical operations, staffing practices, and care delivery workflows.
  • Ability to interpret operational information, create workforce plans or performance measures, and present clear conclusions to executives and senior nursing decision makers.
  • Strong consulting, communication, presentation, relationship management, and organizational skills, with the ability to independently oversee multiple assignments.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide each week, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical or data visualization applications; a master’s degree and experience in healthcare consulting, operational improvement, workforce optimization, or healthcare analytics are preferred.
