Job Title: Raw Material Chemist
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Raw Material Chemist to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, this onsite Contract to Hire opportunity offers hands on laboratory experience within a regulated manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will play an important role in ensuring the quality and compliance of materials used throughout production while collaborating with quality and operational teams. This position is well suited for professionals with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in supporting product quality through laboratory testing and documentation.
Compensation:
$23 to $26/hour
Work Schedule:
Flexible schedule with core hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM; employees may work earlier or later as coordinated with the team
Key Responsibilities of the Raw Material Chemist:
  • Perform laboratory evaluations of incoming materials, packaging components, and production related samples to support quality and compliance objectives.
  • Analyze test results using a variety of standard laboratory techniques and instrumentation while following established procedures and safety practices.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and organized testing records, ensuring documentation supports regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Review laboratory data and supporting records for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to internal quality standards.
  • Contribute to department initiatives and provide support for additional laboratory projects and operational activities as needed.
Qualifications and Skills for the Raw Material Chemist:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline preferred; equivalent combinations of education and regulated industry experience will be considered.
  • Experience working within a regulated pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment with knowledge of applicable quality and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and equipment, including pH measurement, moisture analysis, thermal testing, and quantitative wet chemistry techniques.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience using laboratory data management or tracking systems; ability to work safely in a laboratory environment while using required protective equipment and handling chemical materials.
