Job Title: Process Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Process Maintenance Technician to join our client to support reliable equipment performance and help maintain smooth manufacturing operations. This temporary-to-hire opportunity is located in Indianapolis, IN and requires an onsite work arrangement. The Process Maintenance Technician will assist with equipment upkeep, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation in a regulated production environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude who enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and keeping operations running safely and efficiently.

Compensation:
$22–$32/hour based on experience

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 1st shift 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 2nd shift 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted hours may be needed to support 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Process Maintenance Technician:

  • Support preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for manufacturing, packaging, and process-related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues, identify equipment concerns, and assist with timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Help with equipment installations, system updates, modifications, rearrangements, and smaller maintenance-related projects.
  • Maintain accurate work records, repair documentation, activity updates, and communication using basic computer tools and email.
  • Follow safety procedures, recognize potential hazards, report issues appropriately, and contribute to a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Partner with internal teams and customers to support service needs, identify required parts, and complete maintenance tasks efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills for the Process Maintenance Technician:

  • 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, GMP, or similarly regulated environment.
  • An Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or completion of an apprenticeship/on-the-job training program is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills with familiarity using hand tools, electrical tools, test equipment, and maintenance-related machinery.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer functions; exposure to PLCs, VFDs, machine controls, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, basic technical instructions, activity reports, SOPs, drawings, and schematics.
  • Light machining, fabrication, or welding experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to learning and improving technical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, support overtime needs when required, and work effectively in a fast-paced plant environment.
