Job Title: Quality and Operations Manager
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Quality and Operations Manager to join our client to help drive operational excellence, product quality, and scalable manufacturing performance. This role serves as a key onsite leader responsible for integrating quality systems with day to day operations to support growth and customer satisfaction. The position partners closely with engineering, supply chain, and customer service to ensure reliable product delivery and compliance. This is a permanent, onsite opportunity based in Scarborough, Maine.
Compensation:
$115,000 to $120,000 annually plus annual bonus
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Quality and Operations Manager:
  • Oversee and continuously improve the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable customer and regulatory standards while maintaining audit readiness
  • Lead operational planning and execution across production, testing, inspection, and calibration to meet demand, cost, and delivery targets
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, first pass yield, cycle time, scrap reduction, and rework prevention using data driven insights
  • Partner cross functionally with Engineering on NPI, ECO implementation, validation activities, acceptance criteria, and lifecycle transitions
  • Manage nonconformance, CAPA, MRB activities, and customer quality issues including complaints, RMAs, and warranty trends
Qualifications and Skills for the Quality and Operations Manager:
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent hands on experience
  • Extensive experience in quality leadership within scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or precision electromechanical manufacturing environments
  • Proven people management background with success leading and developing quality and operations teams
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, CAPA, audits, calibration systems, and structured problem solving methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and enterprise systems including ERP, PLM, CRM, and related manufacturing software
