Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our client to support the installation, upkeep, and optimization of facility control systems and related equipment. This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable operation of building automation infrastructure by executing wiring, system checks, updates, and equipment validations. The ideal candidate will partner closely with internal teams, outside contractors, and facility leadership to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This is an onsite, contract to hire opportunity based in Austin, Indiana.
Compensation:
Up to 28 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Technician:

• Deliver hands on support for building automation equipment by installing, routing, wiring, and updating control devices and panels.
• Perform troubleshooting, system checks, inspections, and preventive maintenance across BAS, air handling equipment, chillers, exhaust systems, and related components.
• Assist with project execution by coordinating with contractors, updating drawings, supporting change control documentation, and participating in equipment validations.
• Maintain compliance by completing work orders, documenting activities, supporting SOP updates, and ensuring safe, organized work conditions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical guidance, communicate system impacts, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications and Skills for the Engineering Technician:

• Experience working with control wiring, equipment installations, system troubleshooting, and BAS related technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents including drawings, work instructions, SOPs, and equipment reports.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently, interact across teams, and train others when needed.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and organized work practices in a fast paced facility environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime or varied hours to support a 24/7 operation.
