Job Title: Safety Officer

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Safety Officer to join our client in Cincinnati, OH, to help drive a culture of safety and accountability across all projects. This full-time, direct hire role is hybrid-friendly and focuses on implementing proactive safety practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting both field teams and management. The Safety Officer will lead training initiatives, manage risk assessments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant work environments.

Compensation:
$100,000/year

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, normal business hours

Key Responsibilities of the Safety Officer:

• Champion a culture of safety by mentoring teams, providing training, and promoting engagement at all levels.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Coordinate safety planning and documentation with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure compliance and readiness.
• Track and analyze safety metrics, training completion, and regulatory reporting to continuously improve outcomes and mitigate risks.

Qualifications and Skills for the Safety Officer:

• Proven experience in construction safety, environmental health, or related fields, with an Associate degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Certifications such as OSHA 30, EM-385, First Aid, CPR, AED; MEWP and forklift certifications are a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to influence and mentor teams.
• Experience with safety management systems, training programs, and incident reporting; familiarity with Procore is desirable.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, with attention to detail and initiative in improving processes.
